About this Masterclass

New leadership, shifting priorities, plans that keep moving. When people can’t see what’s next, focus drops and worst-case thinking takes over. This session gives teams a way to steady themselves and keep thinking clearly. Calm & Clarity in Times of Change combines a clear explanation of what uncertainty does to attention and decision-making with a practical technique people can use when plans change, answers are incomplete and work still needs to move forward.

Meet your speaker

Mariangel Maldonado is a Clinical and Organizational Psychologist and Therapist who led global wellbeing at Booking.com, building mental health and wellbeing into organizational strategy, culture and leadership across a large, fast-moving international workforce. That experience sits behind this session. She has seen from the inside what sustained change asks of people at scale, and what actually helps them stay clear and effective through it — rather than what simply sounds good in a policy.

Inside the session

01 · THE THEORY

Why uncertainty disrupts clear thinking

Why uncertainty disrupts clear thinking

When the brain cannot predict what comes next, it uses more energy scanning for risk. Focus narrows, decisions feel heavier and worst-case thinking becomes more convincing. Participants learn why this happens and how to recognise it before uncertainty starts running the day.

02 · THE PRACTICE

Steady yourself without waiting for certainty

A guided technique helps people settle the immediate stress response, separate facts from assumptions and identify the next useful action. They leave with a practical reset for changing priorities, incomplete information and moments when the plan moves again.
